Design an Innovative and Sustainable Floating Marina

All architects and students are invited to participate to the call for ideas 2024 and to  design a floating marina in the sensitive calanques area of Marseille, and more specifically in the Calanque de Sormiou.

With the aim of facing climate challenge and preserving the environment, in particular the Posidonia of the Mediterranean Sea, while satisfying the needs of yachtsmen during the season, this protectionist architectural competition encourages the use of innovative materials, functionalities and low-energy technologies to promote sustainability and preserve biodiversity in the marina sector.

In addition to the ingenuity of architects and engineers in the design of infrastructures, a floating marina can also become an interdisciplinary platform, serving as a base for the study and collection of information on marine life, and as a place to raise community awareness of plastic waste and the preservation of flora and fauna.
